Google Business Profile & Maps

Local SEO Services Toronto

Get into the Google Map pack, and get the calls that come with it.

For a local business, three spots decide everything. The map pack, the three listings at the top of local search results, captures the majority of local clicks, and those clicks convert at a far higher rate than anything below them. Businesses in those top three positions see roughly 126% more traffic and 93% more customer actions than those ranked four through ten.

If you are not in the three, your competitors are getting the call you should have had.

What Is Local SEO

Local SEO is the work of making your business the obvious choice when someone nearby searches for what you do. It runs on different signals from standard SEO: your Google Business Profile, your reviews, the consistency of your business information across the web, and your proximity and relevance to the searcher.

Two battlefields decide local visibility. The Google map pack is generated entirely from Google Business Profiles — win there and you appear above every organic result. Localized organic results are the standard listings below it, driven by your website’s local content and authority. A complete local strategy targets both, and we build for both.

What Actually Moves Local rankings?

Your Google Business Profile. The single largest factor in map pack ranking. Categories, services, attributes, business description, photos, and posting activity all feed it — and most profiles we audit are half-configured. Category selection alone frequently moves rankings more than months of other work.

Reviews — volume, velocity, and responses. Recent reviews outweigh old ones, and consistent flow beats a one-time burst. Responding to every review is a ranking signal and a conversion signal, since prospects read how you handle criticism. Rating matters disproportionately at the margins: conversion rates rise steeply as a rating climbs past the mid-threes.

Citation consistency. Your name, address, and phone number must match across every directory Google checks. Inconsistencies — an old suite number, a disconnected phone, a former business name — actively suppress rankings, and almost every business has some.

Local content on your website. Genuine location and service-area pages, with local schema markup, supporting the profile. Not templated pages with the city name swapped, which Google recognizes and discounts.

Proximity and service area configuration. Service-area businesses are frequently invisible outside a small radius of their registered address, purely because the settings were never configured properly. This is one of the most common and most fixable problems we find.

Why Local SEO Matters?

Your customers are searching right now for what you sell, within a few kilometers of your office, shop or clinic. Every search where they do not find you is revenue going to a competitor who did the work.

Local search also converts unusually well because the intent is immediate. Someone searching “emergency plumber near me” or “dentist open Saturday” is not researching — they are choosing. Map pack visibility drives roughly half of all inbound calls for local service businesses, which makes it the highest-leverage channel most local businesses are ignoring.

What We Do

Google Business Profile management. Full build or rebuild: categories, services, attributes, photos, business description, and an ongoing posting cadence that keeps the profile active.

Review generation and management. A workflow that fits your business — built into job completion, appointment follow-up, or checkout — plus response management for every review, good and bad.

Citation building and cleanup. Auditing your business information across the directories that matter, correcting inconsistencies, and building the citations you are missing.

Local landing pages. Genuine service-area and location pages with local schema, built to rank in localized organic results and support your profile.

Tracking and reporting. Map pack position tracking across your service area, call volume from your profile, and the actions that produce revenue — not vanity metrics.

Outranking the billboard budgets on Maps

Competing against firms spending heavily on paid search and outdoor advertising. Their profile had strong reviews but poor category configuration and no local content on the website supporting it.

We corrected primary and secondary categories, built practice-area service pages with local schema, earned citations from legal and community directories, and structured review requests around case resolution.

Dental practice — Toronto

Into the map pack, and the phone started ringing

An incomplete Google Business Profile, 14 reviews, no posting activity, and inconsistent address data across directories. Ranking outside the top 10 on Maps for every target term while competitors two blocks away dominated.

We rebuilt the profile — categories, services, attributes, photo library — cleaned up citations across major directories, launched a review request workflow into their appointment follow-up, and built location-specific service pages with local schema.

Restaurant group — Houston, TX

Two locations, two profiles, twice the walk-ins

Both locations shared one poorly maintained profile with outdated hours, no menu data, and unanswered reviews going back two years. Google was showing incorrect information at the moment people were deciding where to eat.

We separated and rebuilt both profiles with complete menu and attribute data, established review response within 24 hours, and set a weekly posting cadence for specials and events.

Visible across the whole service area, not just the head office

Ranking only within a small radius of their registered address, invisible in the suburbs where most of their revenue came from. Emergency searches were going to competitors with better local coverage.

We optimized the service area configuration, built dedicated pages for each city served, standardized citations, and established a review cadence tied to job completion.

Accounting firm — Dallas, TX

Found by more than referrals, in time for tax season

A profitable practice built almost entirely on referrals, with no visibility on Maps when demand peaks. Their Google Business Profile listed a single generic category, had 8 reviews with no responses, and carried a suite number that did not match their listings elsewhere. Ranking ninth on Maps for their core terms meant that in January through April, when local search volume for tax services triples, competitors captured the demand while the firm waited for the phone to ring.

We rebuilt the profile around distinct service categories rather than one generic listing — personal tax, corporate returns, bookkeeping, and advisory — with services, attributes, and business description written for how clients actually search. Corrected the address inconsistency across financial and business directories and built the citations they were missing. Launched a review request workflow triggered at filing completion, when client satisfaction peaks. Added service pages with local schema supporting the profile, and set a posting cadence timed to deadline season.

Why Choose Us

A map pack position that does not make your phone ring is a screenshot, not a result. Our reporting starts with call volume and lead quality.

We optimize for visibility across every area you actually serve, which for most service-area businesses is where the missing revenue is hiding.

We build a review workflow your team can maintain, rather than a one-time push that fades in a month.

The person doing the work is the person you talk to.

No long-term contract.

FAQs

Google Business Profile improvements can show movement within two to four weeks — faster than standard SEO, because you are optimizing an asset Google controls directly rather than earning authority over time. Meaningful map pack movement typically lands between 60 and 120 days. Competitive urban markets take longer than suburban ones.

The map pack is the block of three business listings at the top of local search results, with the map beside it. It sits above every organic result, and roughly 42% of local searchers click one of those three. For a local service business, being in the three versus below it is the difference between a phone that rings and one that does not.

If you serve customers in a specific area, yes. They run on different signals — standard SEO is content, technical quality, and authority; local SEO is your profile, reviews, citations, and proximity. A business can rank well organically and still be invisible on Maps. Most local businesses need both, and our SEO service covers the organic side.

There is no threshold number, what matters is being competitive within your market and keeping the flow consistent. If the businesses ranking above you have 200 reviews and you have 20, that gap is part of why. Recency matters as much as volume: twenty reviews from this year outweigh two hundred from 2020.

Always, and promptly. Prospects read how you handle criticism more closely than they read your praise, and a measured response to a bad review often converts better than the review costs you. Businesses that respond to all reviews are meaningfully more likely to be chosen than those that ignore them.

Yes, and this is where the largest gains usually are. Service-area businesses are commonly invisible beyond a small radius of their registered address because the service area was never configured properly and there are no supporting local pages. Fixing that frequently opens entire cities that were previously producing nothing.

Yes. Each location needs its own properly configured profile, its own local page, and its own review flow — a shared profile across locations is one of the most common and most costly mistakes we correct.

They serve different purposes. Google Ads buys immediate visibility and works from day one, which matters for urgent services. Local SEO takes months but produces calls that do not stop when the budget does. The strongest local businesses run both, with ads covering the gap while local visibility builds.
